Get answers to common questions about Tape-in Extension Move Up.
We recommend a move up every 6–8 weeks for most clients, depending on hair growth rate, lifestyle, and weft placement. Your stylist will assess wear, adhesive condition, and hair health to create a personalized maintenance schedule.
When performed by trained professionals there’s minimal risk of damage. We gently remove adhesive residue, check strand integrity, and reposition wefts correctly. If any breakage or weakness is found we’ll recommend treatments or adjust timing to protect your natural hair.
Typical move up appointments range from 45 to 90 minutes depending on number of wefts, hair length, and whether blending, trimming, or styling are requested. Your stylist will provide a time estimate during booking based on your current set.
We inspect each tape; sometimes existing adhesive can be reused safely, but fresh tape often provides a stronger, cleaner bond. Reuse depends on tape condition, hygiene, and how secure your current wefts are.
After your move up avoid oil-based products at the roots, use sulfate-free shampoos, brush gently with recommended tools, protect hair from heat, and sleep on silk. Follow stylist product recommendations to maximize hold and hair health between appointments.
Yes — we can trim and blend your natural hair for a seamless finish. Color adjustments are possible but may require additional time or services; discuss color needs during consultation so we can plan accordingly.
